I came across this page because I am shopping for a new hand blender. I bought this one some months back (at Sears), and shelved it some days later. The burning smell was bad enough, but then the blades started making this horific noise and I was convinced they were going to just fly off and maim me. Also, in reading reviews for other brands, it seems that this guy was really very slow and weak.

I just got mine yestarday, for just $30. Great value, I got the chopper and the mixer for small things. I just puree some canned tomatoes, I would not get my bleder dirty just for that, but this is so easy to clean…. It does his job fine.

I had an Ipod Nano but I wanted to run some applications that required the Ipod touch. This really is a nice device, easy to use and navigate with nice resolution for the screen. The applications run fast and one you have a wireless connection (which is very easy to set up) the browsing is very quick. I would strongly suggest buying a protective case because the back which is made of metal scratches easily. My only real complaint would be that the battery life could be longer.

Just got this today. I like the fact that it comes apart for ease of cleaning. I made a “shake” with skim milk, 3 ice cubes, Splenda and raspberries. It doesn’t make “whipped cream” but it will make a low calorie shake/snack. Be sure to follow mfgs. directions. Use it for 60 seconds, then let it rest for 3 minutes to avoid burning out the motor.

I want to LOVE this product and for the most part I do. But, I’m on my 3rd one since December 2007 due to the blender (part that attaches the motor to the stick) melting. When it works, it works great. I use it mainly for smoothies and it blends all the frozen fruit without problem. Oster support has been super and have replaced the product each time in under two weeks. I will continue to use it and get it replaced until they either correct the problem or stop sending me replacements!
