This book provides all of the information needed for developing a self-employed business including the legal types of business, insurance, licenses, marketing, and taxes to copyrights, employees, and retirement. It includes case studies that provide real world examples which offer the reader a practical view of the concepts. Self-employment is not the easy approach to wealth and success that many people imagine and this book addresses all the advantages and disadvantages to working for oneself.

This book provides information essential for anyone considering self-employment including whether he/she is cut out for it and it proved to be an eye-opener for me.

It is really a fantistic machine. Took up some much dirt and really left clean carpets. Even when i went back for a 2nd time next day took up more dirt. Carpets were dry within the hr. barely wet. compared to my old Bissell machine that was too wet to my likeing i highly reccommend this machine for the home use.

Skimpy coverage, the code compiles with a bazillion warnings, and for me at least the first client/server examples just plain don’t work and don’t provide useful enough error messages to figure out. It’s not until you get to a much later chapter that you learn about debugging techniques that *might* help. This debugging information should either have been moved forward within the book, or should have been forward-referenced from the first example. Additionally the book repeats the same information over and over again, for instance in any example that calls for the use of the INADDR_ANY constant, the author explains what it stands for each and every time. This sort of repetition is simply not acceptable in a book fancying itself as somehow “definitive” yet only 300 or so pages. Furthermore, rather than covering ins and outs of actual network programming, far too much is devoted to the basics of various protocols (the first 20+% of the book), and/or security specifically (the last 20+% of the book). A better title for this book would be Linux Network Programming *Fundamentals*, and as such this would warrant 4 stars, maybe even 5 if it taught debugging earlier. As a *Definitive Guide* though it is a 2 at best; if you want truly definitive, albeit regarding Unix generally and not necessarily Linux, Stevens’ “Unix Network Programming” series is the real deal.

This is my first pedometer. I was very easy to set up and start to use. It resets each morning. I like the additional little strap that you can clip on for extra security to keep from losing it. Great for the price and shipping was fast.
A Patient s Guide

This item is great especially if you are working in an office as it gives you an idea/overview of how much (or how little) you are doing daily. 10000 steps per day is longer than it seems… It definitely is a motivational tool to get you out and about.

If you are getting into jogging or running, it’s also a great help with trying to see how far and long you have been on the move.

It’s light, compact, doesn’t get in the way, and is easy to use. I keep it on my purse and with me everyday.

It’s definitely for the simpler sportsman/woman or if you’re just starting to get active, and want to keep track of your activity a bit.

If you are an advanced walker/runner, who needs a GPS system and heart rate monitor, this is probably not the item for you.

Overall, was worth the buy!

Althought the picture doesn’t show it, this unit does come with a heart rate monitor. Not good for hiking as the GPS is not designed for that purpose.

The omron pedometer is the best I have used. It is accurate and does not count every jiggle. This is the second one I have bought. The first one lasted for several years.

The words “love story” and “vampires” just don’t seem quite right in the same sentence but once you start reading this book you won’t be able to put it down. I can’t wait to read the next one. My daughter got me hooked on The Twilight Saga and all the gals that I work with are reading this series too.
